internet kosten, insane bill to be paid.

Unfortunately I have received an invoice above 200€ for this month which is due in some weeks.... I have a Simyo complete bundle and I noticed this morning the invoice and the blocking of my sim. My understanding is that this is because I have incurred higher costs due to extra data usage. This was not reflected in the app and the texts received  by Simyo did not signal the exceeding of my data in time that I could do something about it, so this seems purposely done on purpose. Also in the app there was no display of these 2000 extra MB used. This is so confusing and very unclear and not transparent to users and excessively high (wondering is this is also in line with EU law on roaming). Moreover, the information provided is not complete or exhaustive on the topic in the mobile app. My sim was also not blocked at 100€ as Simyo States but at 300€. This is insanely expensive and can be a tremendous financial burden for many users including myself. Could someone please assist me to also discuss concession with these costs?

Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that you incurred charges outside your bundle due to internet usage.

We always send warning messages at 80% and 100% usage of your data bundle. These text messages come directly from the network and are always leading. In the last text message we also clearly indicate what the tariff is from that moment on (€0.15 per MB) and that it is wise to turn off the internet or to buy an internet bundle. From Simyo, we do our best to warn our customers in time. If you have incurred high costs outside your bundle within a short period of time, we will block your SIM card as a precaution and send an e-mail about this. 

Due to privacy laws, we cannot see which app(s) have used up the MBs. This can often be found in the settings of your phone. Your phone actually always uses data, even when you are not using your phone. Think of apps that consume data in the background. I recommend looking in your phone's settings to find the cause of your high usage.

We recently introduced the option to enable a data cap for €0.50 cents per month. This will prevent you from incurring charges outside your bundle again due to internet usage. We have also created a topic on the forum with detailed information about the data cap. You can activate the data cap through Mijn Simyo. 

I understand that the costs were not made deliberately. Can you send me a private message with your 06 number and personal details? I'd be happy to see what we can do for you to resolve this together.
