cannot send or receive sms to german cell phone number

The most likely cause is that the international usage setting is disabled in Mijn Simyo, or the German phone number is incorrectly formatted. Text messages to foreign numbers fall outside standard monthly bundles, meaning you need to enable the "Calling in and to foreign countries" (Bellen in en naar het buitenland) toggle under Instellingen> Internet en bellen. Additionally, make sure the German number starts with +49 or 0049 and that you have removed the leading zero of the actual mobile number (for example, +49170...). If you are using a prepaid plan, ensure you have enough cash credit on your balance, as international texts cannot be deducted from a standard bundle. If all these settings are already correct, restarting your phone can help force your eSIM to re-register on the network.
