Hotspot not working on laptop?


Hello,

 

My personal hotspot is not working when I try to connect it to my laptop. It gets connected but it says “No internet, secured” on my laptop. Does anyone have an idea why my personal hotspot does not have the internet?


I have two SIMs on my iPhone and the hotspot on the other SIM works perfectly but the hotspot with Simyo does not work, so I know that it is not a matter of my phone’s internet connection. I’d appreciate any advice or insight. Thank you!

Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the hotspot. At the moment, we noticed more customers are facing the same problems with the hotspot, especially when using the iPhone SE 2020. This is currently being investigated by our Network Specialists. Unfortunately, there is no definitive solution at the moment, but I can assure you that we are working on it. Our apologies for the inconvenience! Could you let me know which phone you're using? This will help us better understand whether the issue is specific to a particular device.

In the meantime, I’d like to check if I can assist you in another way. Have you tried resetting the hotspot on your laptop? Is your VPN turned on?

Additionally, you could try the following APN settings:

  1. Connection name: Simyo Mobiel internet
  2. APN: portalmmm.nl
  3. Username: (leave empty)
  4. Password: (leave empty)
  5. Proxy: (leave empty)
  6. Port: 5080
  7. MCC: 204
  8. MNC: 08
  9. Authentication type: PAP
  10. APN type: default (or internet)

I also recommend reviewing the following topics (they are in Dutch though but maybe you can use the translate function):

Thanks for letting me know! Have you tried resetting the hotspot on your laptop and checking if your VPN is turned on? I'm curious if the instructions I gave you in my previous message fixed the issues you were experiencing,
