Shocking high cost for data usage (250 euros)

Hi Simyo Team,

I am writing to formally contest my upcoming invoice, which is currently at €250. I must express that this amount came as a shocking surprise and is completely outside of any reasonable budget.

As a newcomer to the Netherlands, I am in the process of learning Dutch, and I found it impossible to monitor my usage effectively because the Simyo app is only available in Dutch, and all the warning SMS I received were also exclusively in Dutch.

As I have just signed up for a monthly Sim Only and am currently ending my contract with Simyo, I would like to settle my final account fairly. Given that the lack of English support in your app and communications prevented me from understanding the situation in time, I kindly request a "coulance" (goodwill gesture) to reduce this excessive charge to a more reasonable value.

I look forward to your understanding and a quick resolution.

Best regards,
Camila

Hi @Camila R S,

Thank you for your message. I understand that receiving such a high invoice can be quite a shock. Thank you as well for pointing out the language barrier. At the moment, the Simyo app and most of our communication (such as SMS notifications) are indeed primarily in Dutch, which can make it harder to keep track of things if you’re still learning the language. I can imagine that this has played a role in your situation and I’m sorry that this caused inconvenience.

At the same time our communication has been in Dutch since the start of your subscription, and the notifications you received were in line with this. That said, your feedback about an English option is very valuable to us. I will make sure this is passed on internally as we are always looking for ways to improve our service for all customers.

Could you please send me a private message with your phone number and personal details? Then I can check your usage and situation more thoroughly and see if and what can be done for you.

Greetings,
Khadija
