crazy charges in South Africa

Landed in South Africa. I never requested a data bundle or roaming. One hour after landing they said hey you have used 50 eur lol. I then checked but I was connected tk the airport wifi the whole time. I will not pay this frens. I will cancel my contract and ensure there is no money in my account when you try to charge this.

It’s important to know that if roaming is enabled in your Simyo account and mobile data is turned on on your phone, usage can occur automatically as soon as you connect to a foreign network. When traveling to a country where your bundle is not valid, it’s important to disable this setting in your Mijn Simyo environment. This ensures that your device cannot connect to a foreign network and incur charges. As long as this setting is enabled, a connection is always possible and airport WiFi or WiFi in general is not always stable or strong enough to prevent mobile data usage.

I also see that you’ve already been in contact with us through another channel and that the costs have been reimbursed. We hope you’re satisfied with how your case has been handled.
