I switched to Simyo some months ago, and while I can use the internet, make calls, and even receive text messages just fine, I'm not able to send messages at all when I disable RCS chats (my most common recipient is very rarely connected to the internet, so using RCS is not an option).

I've already tried stuff like restarting my phone, clearing the message caches (both Android and Google messages), enabling and disabling airplane mode to force reconnection, updating my phone, updating the messaging apps, verified that the numbers are correct and not blocked, as well as resetting the APN. 

While I neither get a confirmation that the message has been sent, nor of course does the recipient see the message, I do however see the 7 cent charge on my invoice for each individual message when the recipient is a foreign number.

Thank you for your message. How strange that you can not send these text messages! I do see that the text messages has been registered on the simcard. Does this happen to every number when you want to send a text message or only to 1 specifically number? 
 

Do you see an error message when sending the text message?

I've so far confirmed that it does not send to at least three different numbers, all foreign. I tried sending one to my Dutch number now, and while that one did arrive, the messages I tried sending to my non-Dutch number did not arrive (though they seem to still have been charged). It seems maybe that the issue is specifically tied to messages sent to foreign numbers.

 

There's no error message.

Thank you for your reply. Good to know! For now i did a reset on the simcard. Can you turn off the phone for 10 minutes so the reset can be done? 

If the reset does not help can you then maybe try the simcard in another phone to check if you can send text messages to the foreign numbers? If it still doen not work i can contact our network specialist.

I tried turning off my phone and waiting, and this didn't solve it. I also tried it on another phone, and had the same issue there as well.

Thank you for your reply. Can you send me a private message with the number you can not send an text message to? I see two diffrent numbers and i also send both a testing message, one is working and the other one is not working.

After 1,5 weeks without feedback I tried contacting Simyo via WhatsApp, and got no response.

I tried again today, about 2 weeks after the message, and the only feedback was that the technical team concluded that "the specialists investigated it and indicated that the messages you sent were delivered” – when I said that my recipients still do not receive their messages, and I even added a fresh screenshot illustrating that the messages do NOT appear on the receiving end, the person stopped responding.

I's been two weeks without response, and I understand that there is no interest from Simyo to amend the issue so I can send text messages. Likewise, on Whatsapp the supporters also stopped responding after blaming the issue on me and yet again asking me to try the SIM in other devices (the issue clearly follows the SIM, as devices that work perfectly well with other SIMs only have an issue when the Simyo card is inserted), before finally transferring the case back and forth like a pingpong ball, so it's clear there's no more interest in helping me.

 

I already sent an email providing a deadline for termination, but of course there was no response.

 

I don't think it's very fair or reasonable to force me to remain in a contract for another year and a half when I do not get what I'm supposed to be paying for. What do you think?
