Hi Simyo,

I hope i can get an English answer.

I got this message when setting up my new simyo sim card:

"The terminal cannot be configured remotely, please contact Customer support for further assistance"

From the number 1300.

It was about two weeks ago, and I've used my sim card functions and they work fine. I'm just worried I might be missing something in the future if I don't ask about this.

Hope you can help!

Best,

Anton (aka murgatroid)
If you're using a smartphone, you generally do not have to worry. Settings that you might be missing are: MMS and internet. If those are working, your smartphone is smart enough to configure itself.
Hi Anton,

As it works fine I think the settings are okay. You were abroad when you received the message?

The most important are the APN settings:

Access Point Names:

Name - KPN Internet

APN - portalmmm.nl

Proxy - not set

Port - not set

Username - not set

Password - not set

Server - not set

MMSC - http://mp.mobiel,kpn.mmsc

Multimedia message proxy - 10.10.100.20

Multimedia message port - 5080

MCC - 204

MNC - 08

Authentication type - not set

APN type - default,supl,mms

APN protocol - IPv4

APN roaming protocol - IPv4

Turn APN on/off - mark on

Bearer - Leave as it is

Mobile virtual network operator type - none

Mobile virtual network operator value - not set (grayed out)

You only can change the settings when mobile data is ON on your mobile phone.
Hi Anton,

Welcome to the Simyo Forum 😃

That's a strange notification you've got there, especially considering that everything seems to work just fine. I recommend that you do nothing 🙂 You should be just fine. As Groentjuh said: your smartphone appears to be smart enough to configure things by itself.

Will you let us know if you hpapen to have an issue with your connection?

@ Groentjuh and Franswon, thank you for your replies 😃

Best regards,

Jihane
Thank you Groentjuh, franswon and Jihane!

I assume it is working as it should. I don't use MMS, and I've turned off Mobile Data, since I don't use that either, I stick to WiFi hotspots :)

I was here in the Netherlands when I got the message. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with anything, so I'm not going to even try to access those APN settings.

If anything changes I will of course get back to this thread.

Oh, and just in case this was related to the type of phone I have, I should mention that it is a Fairphone 1U.

Best,

Anton
Hi Anton,

It's a good thing you turned off the Mobile Data if you don't want to use it! You wont get any unnecessary costs. You only have to check your APN settings when you decide you do want to use Mobile Data. So leave it be for now :)

If anything changes or stops working, please let us know!

Best regards,

Angela
