I just received the two emails with my phone number and password, after logging into the app and agreeing to the contract, I get booted out and a message telling me my iPhone 14 does not have an eSim but if I open settings, I can see that my current carrier is through an eSim.

Hi @OVA,

Thank you for your message. Good thing you contacted us!

I see from your connection that your eSIM still needs to be activated. You can only activate it via the Mijn Simyo app. Are you getting a specific error message? If so, can you send a screenshot of this?

Also, could you let me know which software version your phone has and whether you bought it abroad? I can then help you further!

Greetings,
Roeqajja

Hi @OVA,

Thank you for your message.

Because your device was purchased abroad, it unfortunately is not possible to download the eSIM on your device. The software does not allow this. We can send you a physical SIM card if you'd like this. If you send me a private message with your personal data, I can arrange this for you!

Greetings,
Roeqajja

The US version of the iPhone 14 does not have a physical SIM slot.

And another question: what do you mean with an “iPhone bought abroad”. If I buy an iPhone within the EU, but outside the Netherlands will an ESim work?

Hi @wimj12,

Thank you for your reply.

Good to know that the US version of the iPhone 14 does not have a slot for a physical SIM card; I was not aware of this. Thank you for informing me about this! In this case, the original poster would not be able to use our services on their iPhone 14. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If you would like to cancel your order, you can do so via our website.

And another question: what do you mean with an “iPhone bought abroad”. If I buy an iPhone within the EU, but outside the Netherlands will an ESim work?

If a phone was purchased abroad, within the EU, there is also a risk that the eSIM cannot be installed on the phone.

Greetings,
Roeqajja

That’s not good to hear. If someone buys a new iPhone, prices in shops like belsimpel or mobiel are usually lower then the prices from Apple.
But you might get an EU version from another country with a possible eSIM issue.

I can confirm that an iPhone with UK specifications has no problems with an eSIM from Simyo.
