Hello,

Does anyone can help me to understand why I have the data switched off and simyo still consumes it charging me?

Hi @Gabriel,

Thank you for your message. I’m sorry to hear that data charges occurred while your mobile data was turned off. I can imagine this is frustrating and not what you expected.

If mobile data on your device is turned off, normally no data usage should occur over the mobile network. However, please note that if mobile data is accidentally turned on, charges can still occur.

As an extra tip: some devices have Wi-Fi Assist or a similar feature that automatically switches to mobile data when the Wi-Fi connection is weak. Turning this feature off can help prevent unexpected data usage.

It looks like you turned off your internet via Mijn Simyo today, which is a good step to prevent further charges. Since your internet is now fully turned off, this should no longer happen.

I kindly ask you to keep an eye on it. If any charges still occur, please let me know so I can check it further for you.

Greetings,
Sedat

@xtf I attach a screenshot, I wash charged 18 euros more or less.

Sedat, thanks for your answer, I have a dual SIM phone and the 5g is activated whit a different SIM, which is not Simyo, so i don't understand how this happened.

Hi @Gabriel,

Thank you for your explanation. I understand that this is confusing, especially since the 5G connection is active on your other SIM card and not on the Simyo SIM.

On a dual-SIM phone, you can set which network (such as 4G or 5G) is used for mobile data per SIM card. At the time this happened, the internet through Mijn Simyo was active. It can happen that your device temporarily used data through the Simyo SIM, for example if the other SIM had no connection or if the default setting was changed. Features like Wi-Fi Assist or automatic network switching can also cause brief moments of data usage through Simyo.

I see that you fully disabled your internet through Mijn Simyo on February 2 around 14:30. Since that time, no further charges have been applied, so you don’t need to worry about this anymore.

I recommend checking in your phone settings which SIM is selected for mobile data and, if you want to be sure, keeping mobile data for the Simyo SIM turned off.

Greetings,
