Request for goodwill: High out-of-bundle costs for a new international student.

Dear Simyo Team and Community,

I am an international student who recently moved to the Netherlands and started using Simyo. This is my first month with the service. Today, I was very shocked to see a bill of 100 euro due to out-of-bundle data usage. In my home country, the internet usually stops or slows down when the limit is reached, so I was not aware that it would incur such a high cost (0.15e/MB) here. Being a student, this 100 euro is a huge amount of money for my monthly budget. I admit this was my mistake for not monitoring the data closely, but it was purely due to being new to the system. I have now learned about the 'Dataplafond' feature and will activate it immediately to prevent this from happening again. As this is my very first time, I am kindly asking if Simyo could offer a one-time gesture of goodwill (Kulance) by waiving or reducing this extra charge. I really like Simyo’s service and hope to stay as a long-term customer. Thank you very much for your understanding and help!

Thank you for your message. We’re sorry to hear that costs were incurred outside your bundle. We understand that this can be frustrating and not what you expected.

We always send two warning SMS messages: one when your internet bundle has reached 80% usage, and one when the bundle is completely used. Once your internet bundle is depleted and there is still internet usage on the SIM card, the out-of-bundle rate of €0.15 per MB will be charged. Good that you are going to activate the data limit.
