Not receiving sms texts from the UK

I can't receive SMS texts from the UK. I know they have been sent but I just don't receive them. All other SMS I receive fine (all from EU countries). I am located in the Netherlands.

Thanks for your message and the additional information.

Since you can receive calls from UK numbers and SMS messages from other countries without any issues, there doesn't appear to be a general issue with receiving SMS on your Simyo connection. As the problem seems to occur specifically with SMS messages sent from this UK company, it could be related to the sender or the route they use to deliver their SMS messages.

Have you received SMS messages from this particular sender successfully in the past, or is this the first time you're trying to receive a message from them?

Is the sender’s phone UK registered or NL registered? Either way, the sender should make sure that the Dutch number (your Simyo number) to which they are trying to send a message is prefixed with 0031 or +31. Is this UK based person able to call you?

    It's sent from a UK company to my full correct number with correct country code. Receiving calls from UK numbers doesn't seem to be a problem.

    Maybe it is the company’s policy to block international calls. To be honest I doubt that this is an issue that Simyo could solve, AFAIK there are no restrictions for incoming calls and text messages. Hopefully there will be an official response from Simyo on Monday.

      Hi, yes I used to be able to get messages from them using my previous Telfort/KPN SIM card before switching to Simyo and my wife can currently get messages from them using another provider so it does seem to have something to do with my new SIM card.
