I have a dataplafond but I still able to use data over the limit. Why service doesn't stop when all bundle data is used??

Hi @kmayer,

Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to hear about the costs that have been made.

I just checked with you on your connection and I see that the charges were not incurred because of data usage, but because of calling outside your bundle. You have been informed via email that your calling bundle has run out. When your calling bundle runs out, you pay a rate of €0.31 cents per minute/SMS. This is how the costs have been made. I see on your connection that your data cap is indeed active. Your data cap does not apply to your call bundle, but only to your data bundle.

Thanks for the help! @wimj12 & @JanD

Kind regards,
Roeqajja

Hello @kmayer If you activate the data ceiling during a calendar month, it will take effect on the 1st of the following month. So perhaps you activated the data cap during this month and it will come into effect on November 1.

Where were you when you exceeded your data cap?

In The Netherlands

That’s inside the EU, so the cap should work.

Did you get messages that you exceeded your bundle?

I received the message that 100% was used but in the app I see that I overused a bundle and there is an extra price for it

Is it possible to stop usage of any data if this kind of data in bundle is finished??

I thought that's how dataplafond is working, that's why I took it. Is it possible to solve this situation?

You have 2 types of bundles:

  • Minutes and SMS bundles
  • Data bundles

Minutes and SMS bundles

If you were to run out of minutes/SMS, I can best advise taking the "Onbeperkt min/sms”. Nowadays those are barely any more expensive and given it is unlimited minutes/SMS, it will therefore never run out. In you run out unexpectedly you can for a few euro also supplement minutes/SMS bundels with "Extra 50 minutes”. There is not actual ceiling preventing you from using more minutes/SMS then in your bundle. There are no bundles covering calling to foreign numbers. You can switch off calling in and to foreign countries, but that WILL cause roaming to stop as well while that option is off.

Data bundles

Simyo sim-only does not have any infinite data bundles and because you can use A LOT of MBs in a short while, a data ceiling is available. That ceiling will only stop you from using more data than in your data bundle.

It does nothing for minutes and SMS, which are simply much easier to keep track off. You can count SMS message you sent; you can easily see how many minutes you called. You cannot easily see how much data it did cost to load for example this page…

Also data bundles can be supplemented with "Extra 500 MB” bundles.

I hope this clear up something!

I see that @Groentjuh has informed you perfectly about this (thank you!!).

I recommend keeping an eye on your call minutes through the Mijn Simyo app. You could also possibly adjust your bundle to unlimited calls and texts via Mijn Simyo. This way, you don't have to keep an eye on your minutes anymore.
