I have a prepaid simyo card. I am going to Chile, and I would like to know if my card will work there. What will be the costs for calling/receiving/sending SMS to/from Chile and Europe?

Cheers

Hi Antonella,

Welcome at the Simyo forum.

It is possible to make use of your Simyo prepaid subscription in South America. In Chile we have agreements with the following providers:
  • Claro
  • Entel
  • Telefonica (Movistar)
It's advisable to select one of these providers manually and to make sure that roaming is turned on on your telephone. Making calls abroad is possible with your subcription since you removed this block through Mijn Simyo last year.

All countries are classified in zones. The rates depends on the zone where you are. Chile classified in Zone 3. The rate for calling from Chile to Europe is € 2,54 per minute. Texting from Chile will cost €0,51. A full overview of the costs you can find here.

Hope to have answered all of your questions.

Enjoy your stay in Chile. Which part of the country will you be visiting?
